Congratulations to Anna and Tony Thompson who were the highest placed pair from the Elgin Bridge Centre heat of the Hugh Kelsey Cup for beginners. They came in a creditable eighth place out of 73 competing pairs. Full results can be seen here.

The beginners lessons are based on the SBU 20 lesson course developed by Perth Bridge Club. They are designed for people who are complete beginners and run from September through to the following April/May.

These are aimed at people who have completed the beginners course but still have aspects of their bidding and play they want to improve.

These sessions are ideal for beginners and improvers for extra practice and to ask for help if needed. We try and match pairs at a table by their current level and each table plays at their own pace. Computer dealt hands are used which can be reviewed online after the session.

If you can already play bridge and want to get back into it without attending lessons then Kelsey Express may be suitable for you. Kelsey Express meets on a Tuesday evening at 6.45pm for a 7.00 pm start and usually finishes at 9.00pm. The evening normally starts with a lesson followed by a session of duplicate bridge.  It is ideal for improvers, those getting back into bridge and those that prefer an earlier finish. These are hosted sessions so no partner is required.
