Tuesday afternoon at 12:00.

| Where are we? |
We are now playing at the Garden Plaza Retirement Community. It can be found at 545 N Garden Plaza Court. From I-90, take Exit 7 to the ID-41 offramp. Go to Mullan Road and turn left (west). Shortly after you pass Walmart, look for the driveway on the left. Click here for a link to see a map. Please park in the main parking lot in front of the building, and check in at the front desk.

A 3 level preempt can be a great hindrance to the opponents finding their correct contract. On the other hand it can also keep your side from finding something. Today on board 21 I imagine that many East players opened the hand 3♠ . My rule of thumb is I will not open weak in 1st or 2nd seat with a void. East has a good hand with only 6 losers (better than an opening hand). If the auction goes P-P-P-2♣ then East can get excited. The hand is tricky to play. The 7♣ lead is most likely. Seeing that there is probably a losing K♠ Declarer pops up with the A♣ . Fortunately after losing the finesse, South can’t play another ♣ . After Declarer gets back in they trump a low ♦ and finish pulling trump. Pitch 3 ♣ s on the ♦ s, and claim for making 6. Good job Sandy and Dave on bidding and making the slam.
