Interesting Hand - July 28th

A 3 level preempt can be a great hindrance to the opponents finding their correct contract. On the other hand it can also keep your side from finding something. Today on board 21 I imagine that many East players opened the hand 3♠ . My rule of thumb is I will not open weak in 1st or 2nd seat with a void. East has a good hand with only 6 losers (better than an opening hand). If the auction goes P-P-P-2♣  then East can get excited. The hand is tricky to play. The 7♣  lead is most likely. Seeing that there is probably a losing K♠  Declarer pops up with the A♣ . Fortunately after losing the finesse, South can’t play another ♣ . After Declarer gets back in they trump a low   and finish pulling trump. Pitch 3 ♣ s on the  s, and claim for making 6. Good job Sandy and Dave on bidding and making the slam.

Zero Tolerance

In a nutshell:

Treat others as you would have them treat you.
