< 1>  The handicap pairs event was played on the second week of each month - February to November inclusive.

< 2>  That will be 10 events in total where only the 6 best results will qualify.

< 3>  On the day of the event each pairs duplicate score will be adjusted by their handicap rating.

< 4>  A pairs handicap rating will be calculated based on each members duplicate scores calculated over the preceding two full months.

< 5>  To avoid a bias i.e. the best pairs all sitting N/S to avoid playing each other, a draw will be made for table positions before the start of the session.

         Note a concession will given to anyone who has difficulty moving. They will automatically draw a N/S position.

< 6>  The winners will be awarded the Chris North Trophy in December to share over the following 10 months.

Please note the idea of a handicap is simply to make all pairs equal. If a handicap was perfect everyone would have an identical score at the end of the session. However, unfortunately, participants do have lapses on the day and may not play to their true abilities.

Finally, this is the committees first attempt at running a handicap pairs event so there maybe gremlins to work out and eradicate. Please be patient if these do occur they will be sorted.

The AGM took place on 15th April.

It was agreed, following a vote, that membership should be limited to 56, to avoid the scenario of more than 13 tables being in play.

It was also agreed that if a member needs a partner, a request must be made to a fellow member on the WhatsApp group or verbally.  Should there be no response by the Sunday at 5pm prior to our Tuesday meeting, a friend can be asked to be a partner as a visitor.  This helps give members priority to play over visitors.

The Mursley away weekend was 17th October - 19th October.  It is being held at Delta Marriott Cheltenham Chase Hotel

Our Christmas party was on 3rd Dec 2024.  43 people participated and a good time was had by all.
