Congratulations to Dame Clare Gerada DBE
Member of The Monday Bridge Club awarded a life peerage for services to medicine
We are delighted to share some wonderful news about one of our members, Dame Clare Gerada DBE, who has recently been awarded a life peerage in recognition of her outstanding services to medicine and public service.
Dame Clare is one of the most respected figures in British general practice, with a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years. She has served both as Chair and later President of the Royal College of General Practitioners, and has been at the forefront of improving support for doctors’ mental health through her leadership of the NHS Practitioner Health Programme.
Her elevation to the House of Lords is a fitting recognition of her exceptional contribution to healthcare, her national leadership, her advocacy for vulnerable patients, and her pioneering work in shaping modern general practice while championing the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
We are very proud to have Dame Clare as a member of The Monday Bridge Club, and we warmly congratulate her on this richly deserved honour.
