Our Monday Evening sessions |
On Monday evenings we aim to play 24 boards. For efficient organisation we operate a booking system for members, up to a week ahead, using this website. A member can book for a non-member to partner them.
On the first week of each month the results count towards our handicapped competition for the Jean Pringle Trophy. And on the third Monday the results count towards the (non-handicapped) club championship for the Bill Carter Trophy. But in other respects these sessions are the same. All results are submitted to the EBU for the National Grading Scheme and award of Masterpoints.
Table money is £5 for members, £6 for non-members.

On Thursday evenings we have a more relaxed session, playing no more than 21 boards. No booking is required - just turn up and play. As for Mondays, all results are submitted to the EBU for the National Grading Scheme and award of Masterpoints.
Those needing a partner can use the automated system on this website. But if you prefer the human touch, Stella Joyce is happy to help. Call her on 07710 581133.
Table money is £5 for members, £6 for non-members.

Wednesday Morning Bridge |
For those wanting a more relaxed session of duplicate bridge, we recommend the “Breakaway Bridge Club”, which meets on a Wednesday morning at 9.50 a.m. in the same location as MHBC. They typically play 18 boards (duplicate bridge), in a relaxed atmosphere. This is an independent group (non-EBU). There is no membership fee, with table money of £4 per person. Players need to come with a partner. Please contact Stella Joyce (stellafjoyce@gmail.com) for more information.

Our Bridge Lessons |
Bridge is a game for life. It sharpens your memory and gives your brain an enjoyable workout in a social environment. Market Harborough Bridge Club is keen to introduce newcomers to the game, or to reintroduce those who wish to return to it after an absence. Last year (2023) we ran a very successful beginners course followed by one for improvers, then several weeks of supervised play. This sequence proved very popular and some of our students have already joined our relaxed sessions at the club on Thursdays.
Improvers (2024)
The 3rd set of 10 lessons are due to commence on 2nd October, see calendar for dates.
Beginners 2025
We will be running another beginners block of 10 weeks starting in the spring of 2025
Contact Judith Parkinson (07745745685) for information.

Booking to play or to find a partner |
For our Monday evening sessions we operate a booking system for members, up to a week ahead, using this website. Only one member from each pair needs to book, giving the name of their partner. Members may introduce and book a non-member as their partner.
You can also post a "Partner Needed" request for any forthcoming session. This allows other members to contact you directly.
Click here for full instructions on how to make a booking or request a partner, or just click on the "Bookings Calendar" tab, select the event you are interested in, and follow the instructions.
We also have a "WhatsApp" group as a more interactive way to find a partner - for details of that please ask at the club.
