MANCHESTER COUNTY CARES

The Nightingale Centre, Wythenshawe Hospital

Our Charity Event 30th December 2020 is for the benefit of Prevent Breast Cancer

Prevent Breast Cancer raised £2 million towards the building of The Nightingale Centre – Europe’s first purpose built breast cancer prevention centre.

Opened in July 2007, the building is situated on the University Hospital of South Manchester complex in Wythenshawe. It provides a base for one of the most ambitious breast cancer research programmes in Europe.
The Nightingale Centre offers a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services to women and men with breast cancer and co-ordinates the NHS breast-screening programme for the Greater Manchester area.

In five months, together, we have raised more than £5,500 for various charities - your generous donations and a little extra from the County coffers, have made our Charity Wednesdays a huge success. We have received letters of sincerest thanks from all the recipients and I know we are making a huge difference. Thank you all.

Our next Charity Wednesday on 26th August will support The Nicky Alliance a charity addressing the needs of older and disabled people suffering from social isolation. They are locate at 85 Middleton Road, Crumpsall

Their Mission:
To support the individual, family and community by improving the quality of life of older, disabled and vulnerable people, helping maintain independence, reducing the need for residential care.

Their Vision:
