Club Competitions General Rules 2019-20
Competition Rules
|
- A Minimum of 3 tables required for result to count
- 8+tables for session prize money to be awarded
- A minimum of 24 boards to be played on competition nights.
NOTE - Tuesday afternoon directors may reduce the number of boards but these results will only count towards masterpoints when everyone has played enough boards.
- The competition dates are set in the calendar and will not be changed. No additional nights will be added and bounce nights will not be converted to competition nights to make up for earlier nights missed.
- NOTE the Maxwelltown west Salver, Tuesday Handicap the Adamson and the Wednesday Scratch competitions do not have a set number of nights but do have fixed start and finish dates.
- The Number of scores to count towards a competition is:
Half the number of nights +1 if even number of events played
or half the number of nights rounded up if an odd number of qualifying events are played,

Entry
|
An entry list will be placed in the club 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the competition. Competitors may be added during the competition at the committee/ TD’s discretion.
|
Qualification
|
To win a competition overall, competitors must be club members.
Weekly prize money*, if applicable, can be won by guests (The guest's premium is NOT table money)
Note Prize money will be paid out the week following the event,

Weekly prize money*
|
Prize money will be awarded to the highest N/S and E/W in a Mitchell competition and the highest two percentages in a Howell Competition.
On Wednesday Prize money goes to the Handicap Winners.

Handicap calculation
|
Handicaps will be calculated by Bridgewebs on a 12 month rolling handicap system. After one has played 5 times Bridgewebs will calculate their handicap and apply it the following month.
|
Results
|
All competitions are now based on the percentages scored and not on the position. Hence Bridgewebs will show under the “Competition “ tab the current leaders of the competition for both scratch and handicap events.
|
Masterpoints
|
Masterpoints are awarded to the top third of the players on the night. These can be viewed on Bridgewebs and your total points viewed on Mempad.

Event J.H.S. LAW TROPHY .
This year the J.H.S. Law Trophy will run alongside Club Charity Night on ? 2020. Money received to be split between MARFAN and Charity of Presidents choice.
The J.H.S. LAW TROPHY will be a Match Pointed Handicapped Pairs Competition for club members and the J.H.S.Law Trophy winners will be the pair with the highest percentage after club Handicaps are applied. ( i.e. They could be N/S or E/W Pair.)
NOTE – (1) The J.H,S.Law Trophy can only be won by a club member
(2) If Club Member does not have an appropriate handicap then the Pair will be allocated one depending on their Master Point Ranking.
There will also be a prize for the Top Bronze Pair who did not win either the J.H.S. Law Trophy or the Charity Competition.
Note for Clarification – the Charity competition will be a Match pointed Scratch Competition with a winning N/S Pair and a winning E/W Pair.

Event J.H.S. LAW TROPHY .
This year the J.H.S. Law Trophy will run alongside Club Charity Night on ? 2020. Money received to be split between MARFAN and Charity of Presidents choice.
The J.H.S. LAW TROPHY will be a Match Pointed Handicapped Pairs Competition for club members and the J.H.S.Law Trophy winners will be the pair with the highest percentage after club Handicaps are applied. ( i.e. They could be N/S or E/W Pair.)
NOTE – (1) The J.H,S.Law Trophy can only be won by a club member
(2) If Club Member does not have an appropriate handicap then the Pair will be allocated one depending on their Master Point Ranking.
There will also be a prize for the Top Bronze Pair who did not win either the J.H.S. Law Trophy or the Charity Competition.
Note for Clarification – the Charity competition will be a Match pointed Scratch Competition with a winning N/S Pair and a winning E/W Pair.

Competition Rules
|
- A Minimum of 3 tables required for result to count
- 8+tables for session prize money to be awarded
- A minimum of 24 boards to be played on competition nights.
NOTE - Tuesday afternoon directors may reduce the number of boards but these results will only count towards masterpoints when everyone has played enough boards.
- The competition dates are set in the calendar and will not be changed. No additional nights will be added and bounce nights will not be converted to competition nights to make up for earlier nights missed.
- NOTE the Maxwelltown west Salver, Tuesday Handicap the Adamson and the Wednesday Scratch competitions do not have a set number of nights but do have fixed start and finish dates.
- The Number of scores to count towards a competition is:
Half the number of nights +1 if even number of events played
or half the number of nights rounded up if an odd number of qualifying events are played,

Entry
|
An entry list will be placed in the club 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the competition. Competitors may be added during the competition at the committee/ TD’s discretion.

Qualification
|
To win a competition overall, competitors must be club members.
Weekly prize money*, if applicable, can be won by guests (The guest's premium is NOT table money)
Note Prize money will be paid out the week following the event,

Weekly prize money*
|
Prize money will be awarded to the highest N/S and E/W in a Mitchel competition and the highest two percentages in a Howell Competition.
On Wednesday Prize money goes to the Handicap Winners.

Handicap calculation
|
Handicaps will be calculated by Bridgewebs on a 12 month rolling handicap system. After one has played 5 times Bridgewebs will calculate their handicap and apply it the following month.
|
Results
|
All competitions are now based on the percentages scored and not on the position. Hence Bridgewebs will show under the “Competition “ tab the current leaders of the competition for both scratch and handicap events.
|
Masterpoints
|
Masterpoints are awarded to the top third of the players on the night. These can be viewed on Bridgewebs and your total points viewed on Mempad.
