The Membership Fee of £10 for this year starting 1/4/2026 was decided at the AGM on 27th April.  Members can now pay their subs preferably by transfer into the clubs bank account (the club does not accept cheques). Table money of £2.00 per player will be charged for all face to face tournaments and all BBO online tournaments will be $2.00 per player.

Welcome to Largs Bridge Club

Largs is a vibrant picturesque seaside town in North Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland.  Largs Bridge Club is a long established friendly low cost club catering for all skill levels.  Post pandemic the club provide a mix of both face to face and online (BBO) tournaments for both members and visitors, who are always welcome.  The club use electronic scoring so no more messing with bits of paper.   If you are interested in playing please contact us.  Largs Bridge Club is independent and follows the World Bridge Federation laws of bridge.

1st Sept 2026 - the summer Monday F2F bridge season is shortly to end and the last session at the Clark Memorial Church hall will be on Monday 28th Sept 2026.  The new winter Monday bridge season starts on the 5th Oct 2026 at the Largs Bowling Club at 7.00pm.  The Wed and Fri F2F sessions and the Tue and Thur online BBO sessions continue as normal.

 

 


 

1st Sept 2026 - on 25 January 2027 Largs Bridge Club celebrates the 80th anniversary of its foundation. To celebrate this event it has been decided to have a combined anniversary and Christmas dinner. The date for your diary is Monday 1st February 2027 at The Willowbank Hotel.  All members are invited to attend and the subsidised cost per member will be £20. Further details to follow.

 


 

19th March 2026 - the Annual General Meeting of Largs Bridge Club has now been set for Monday 27th April at 2pm at The Willow Bank Hotel in Largs.  A number of key topics for the club will be discussed so it is important that as many members as possible attend.  Prize giving will also take place so if you are a trophy winner please come along.  A free of charge afternoon tea will be provided. 

 


19th March 2026 - A new series of talks by Chris Gurney is being scheduled to start after Easter. The talks are free to LBC members and the topics are as follows; 

9 April The losing trick count - greatest innovation in bridge!
16 April Try not to let opponents play in low part scores
23 April How to use penalty doubles more often
30 April The easy way to show six card suits
7 May Cue bidding
14 May Simplifying doubles and overcalls

19th March 2026 - the winter bridge season is now coming to an end and our last Monday night session at Largs Bowling Club will be on 30th March.  We start our summer bridge season on 6th April in the Clark Memorial Church annex at 1.30pm.  Please be sure to be there at least 15 minutes before the start.

 

 


19th March 2026 - the final tournament of the winter bridge season took place on Monday 16th March when a seasoned band of members played for the Easter Pairs trophy.  Alison Jamieson and Lesley Cadenhead came out the winners with a very healthy 71.88% score.  Congratulations go to them and second placed Sue Carmichael and Sylvia Ryan and third placed Jean Featherstone and Anne Smith.  Prize giving takes place at the AGM in April.
