28th Jan 2026 - today the club played a pairs (1 winning pair) tournament for the Stone Trophy.  A good turnout of members fought a fierce but friendly battle with the winning pair being Christine Jamieson & Alice Jamieson (not related) who were pleasantly surprised that they had won.  Congratulations go to them and second placed Janet Brodie & Tricia Bennett and third placed Eva Brown & Thelma Ling.

22nd Jan 2026 - an interclub tournament between Largs BC and Fort Matilda BC took place this week.  Thanks go to Marcus Adams for organising the event and to our team captain Eva Brown.  Two teams of 8 players battled it out and at the final count the Fort Matilda team were victorious.  No doubt we will redouble our efforts in the return match.

13th Jan 2026 - last night the club held it's winter fun bridge event at The Willowbank Hotel.  Following welcome drinks in the bar more than 60 members enjoyed a 2 course dinner with complementary wine.  To round off the evening fun bridge was played using a movement that defied logic but worked very well.  The winner was Cathy McColm and in second place was Morag Douglas both received a bottle of wine for their sterling efforts.  In last place was ? (being discrete) who also received an appropriate gift.  Thanks go to President Jen and Secretary Peter for successfully organising the event and to The Willowbank Hotel who, as always, looked after us very well.  The club hold these heavily subsidised events a couple of times per year and they are open to all members including away members.

9th Dec 2025 - In addition to the Chris Gurney talks we are planning to run a BBO bridge online course.  This will be free of charge to all members and will cover how to play casually online and how to participate in the twice weekly LBC tournaments on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  If you are interested please let secretary Peter know.
