
Largs is a vibrant picturesque seaside town in North Ayrshire on the west coast of Scotland. Largs Bridge Club is a long established friendly low cost club catering for all skill levels. Post pandemic the club provide a mix of both face to face and online (BBO) tournaments for both members and visitors, who are always welcome. 13th Jan 2026 - last night the club held it's winter fun bridge event at The Willowbank Hotel. Following welcome drinks in the bar more than 60 members enjoyed a 2 course dinner with complementary wine. To round off the evening fun bridge was played using a movement that defied logic but worked very well. The winner was Cathy McColm and in second place was Morag Douglas both received a bottle of wine for their sterling efforts. In last place was ? (being discrete) who also received an appropriate gift. Thanks go to President Jen and Secretary Peter for successfully organising the event and to The Willowbank Hotel who, as always, looked after us very well. The club hold these heavily subsidised events a couple of times per year and they are open to all members including away members.

9th Dec 2025 - In addition to the Chris Gurney talks we are planning to run a BBO bridge online course. This will be free of charge to all members and will cover how to play casually online and how to participate in the twice weekly LBC tournaments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you are interested please let secretary Peter know.

6th Dec 2025 - The winter break over the Christmas and New Year periods is as follows - the last session of 2025 for both face to face and online bridge will be Friday 19th December. The first session in 2026 will be Monday 5th January
6th Dec 2025 - A new series of talks by Chris Gurney has been scheduled starting in the new year and running up to Easter as follows. The talks are free to LBC to members;

17th Nov 2025 - the Autumn Pairs tournement was held tonight when 30 members took part in a closely fought contest. The winning pair were Jean Featherstone and Fred Milne in second place were Paddy Walsh and Ian Jones and third place was taken by Alison Jamieson and Lesley Cadenhead. Well done to all the participants who turned out on a very chilly night. This is the last trophy tournament this year however face to face and online bridge continue as normal.

29th Sept 2025 - the end of the Summer bridge season was marked today by the Summer Cup Tournamant. It was a very close contest with only 3 points separating the first three places. Congratulations go to the winners Lesley Cadenhead and her partner Iain Bannatyne, in second place was Paul McKay and Tony Rowley and in third place was Jean Featherstone and Fred Milne. This was the last Monday afternoon session this year in the Clark Memorial Church annex, Monday evening bridge resumes on 13th October at 7.00pm at Largs Bowling Club and we look forward to seeing you there. Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning sessions continue as usual.

24th Sept 2025 - today the club played for the Sadie Morton trophy. Sadie was a long time member of the club and on her passing her family offered to provide a trophy which we were gratefully to accept. There were 30 members playing in a hard fought contest. Congratulations go to the winners Jean Featherstone and Fred Milne. In second place was Nan Muldoon and Sheena Hendry and third place was Christine Jamieson and Alice Jamieson.
