Annual Fundraising

Annual fundraising

LCBA currently manages to invest up to £1600 per year in Education & Training but we could do much more if we had more funds. We therefore applied to the Lottery Community Fund for a grant but unfortunately were not successful, perhaps because we are not a bridge club and possibly because this activity is not really a one-off – it’s a necessary investment year after year if we want to keep bridge going.

As a charity we are now allowed to Fundraise and use Gift Aid and we are considering having a fundraising effort every year to try and increase the funding.  There’s quite a lot of effort involved in setting up an annual fundraiser and to help us decide whether to do this, we wanted to ask our membership if they were likely to support it.  I am therefore writing to ask if you would consider donating to our Education and Development Fund and are happy to be contacted around January each year, with a request to consider making a donation– your donation would only be used for those purposes.

If you have had pleasure from this great game/mind-sport, please consider investing in future generations of bridge players and opt in by completing the online form below.  Remember, opting-in does not commit you to making a donation, it simply says you are happy for us to contact you each year.

Many thanks
Andrew Petrie – LCBA Chairman
