MANCHESTER CONGRESS 2026

3rd & 4th January 2026

Airport Hotel Manchester, Altrincham Road, Wilmslow SK9 4LR

Back face to face and once again organised by Oliver Cowan on behalf of and in partnership with the MCBA, at the Airport Hotel Manchester – Hotel and Spa.  This venue provides an excellent, friendly setting for this congress and has free parking for players with easy access to the local town centre with lots of nice restaurant and bar options for after bridge finishes each evening.

Saturday 3rd January – Championship Pairs (11:00-18:00)

Sunday 4th January – Swiss Teams (11:00-18:00)

Entry fees per £30 per player for 1 day or £55 if playing 2 days and the entry fee includes tea/coffee/biscuits/sweets throughout. There will also be a prize fund.

Players can order lunch/sandwiches each day on arrival to be served in the break. If you bring your own food, this must NOT be consumed in public areas of the hotel.

Also on Sunday 4th January 14:00-17:30 will be the Kevin Comrie Cup restricted to players no higher than a 9 NGS, with an entry fee of £15 per player.

LCBA Teams of 8 2026

LCBA Club Teams-of-8 Championship Sunday 16 February 2026 starting at 11am

(Holders 2025 Southport Bolton BC)

A multiple Teams-of-8 competition held at Bolton Bridge Club,  4 Chorley Old Road, Bolton BL1 3AA. Phone 01204 526484.
Sunday 16th February 2026 starting at 11am (with an early finish)

Entry Fee £4 per player per session i.e. £64 per team (please note that a meal is not included - bring your own food).
Prizes: The winning club will have the £302 entry fee for the Garden Cities Trophy event paid by LCBA.
Master points will be awarded to County Scale
Permissable Systems and Conventions: Level 4
General Conditions:
1 Each team will have just eight players all of whom must be EBU members, belong to the same LCBA Affiliated club and have primary allegiance to Lancashire.
2 Two teams may be entered from a club. If there are space constraints, the first team entries will have priority and first come first served will operate.
3 Entries will close when the venue is full or on Wednesday 12 February, whichever comes first.

Garden Cities: The winning club will be entitled to represent the County in the Regional Final of the Garden Cities Trophy.  Different players may represent the club in the LCBA qualifying round and the regional (Sat 9th May 2026) and national finals but must meet the criteria defined at #1 above.  The £302 entry fee for the Garden Cities trophy will be paid by the LCBA.

The Lancashire online BBO Teams of Four competition will take place on Sunday 15th March 2026 starting at 11am.
All players must be EBU members with primary allegiance to the LCBA. The winning team will be invited to represent the County in the Pachabo Cup (RealBridge on 13/14 June 2026). Closing date for Entries 8th March 2026. Green Points awards.
