2. Two over One with Lisa Mita
This course will cover the basics of 2/1 Game Force, the bidding system used by almost all experienced players. This system makes it easier for the partnership to get to the best game contract and safely explore the possibility of slam. Don't miss this chance to significantly improve your game. 4. We warmly welcome Dave LeGrow back to the Club for a 4–Lesson series for Advanced players on Making Sound Decisions. Join Dave from 10 to 11:30 AM on four consecutive Mondays beginning October 2. Topics will include Hand Evaluation, Finding Good Games, Balancing, and an introduction to Lebensohl (Lite). Upcoming Special Events
On Friday December 8 we will host our first Hanukkah party and game. If you'd like to contribute a delish dish please let Natalie know – we have a cake and two kugels promised and we will have lunch as well.
On Saturday December 16 we will also host a special party for our Come Out and Play and 0–500 players. Both sessions start at 10 AM, so come early to eat and learn during Rex Saffer's 9:30 Mini–Lesson.
On Wednesday December 20 our Points and Pointers (0–20) players can enjoy the same Holiday Cheer. The game starts at 12 Noon, so come on down at 11:30 AM.
Finally, on Friday December 22 we will host our grand Christmas Party. So much food! So much fun! Come at 11:30 AM to enjoy it all before the game at 12 Noon.
Handicapped Teams Join us for our December Handicapped Swiss Teams events on alternate Mondays,12/04 and 12/18. Games start at 12 Noon. Email or call the Club soon to register and reserve a table for your team. As before, we will be using duplicated boards, so hand records will be available.
Fall Bridge Lessons Continue! As the end of the year approaches, we have one ongoing class for advancing and intermediate players:
Linda O'Malley is teaching an Advanced Beginner Series for those who have taken the first round of her beginner bridge lessons. Topics include play of hand tips as well as conventions such as Stayman, Jacoby Transfers, the Takeout Double, and the strong Two Club Opener. The 6–Lesson series runs on Wednesdays from 9:30–11:30 AM, November 8 to December 20 and costs $120 (no class on November 22). Arrive at 11:00 AM to fill out a convention card; lunch will be provided by the Club. Game at noon; reduced card fee of $10.00 per player. This is a special game which will award triple points, and the top winners will receive free Club game entries! The Club will organize all partnerships. North American Pairs
The North American Pairs is a major national pairs event sponsored by the ACBL. It is a grass-roots event that is played in three stages; qualification in club games, District 4 finals in the fall, and national competition at the Spring NABC. Players who win in the District finals earn the right to represent District 4 at the Spring NABC to compete against winners from all 25 ACBL Districts. Monetary subsidies are available to winning players to defray a portion of the costs of attending the National contest.
Qualification games at local clubs have concluded. Click here to view a list of players in Unit 141 having qualified as of 08/25/2023. This will be updated as soon as final information becomes available. King of Prussia Bridge club is proud to be hosting District 4 Flight C NAP Finals on Saturday September 30th. This is a two–session event at 10 AM and 2 PM. This flight is limited to non–Life Masters with fewer than 500 masterpoints. The table fee is $18 per person per session and includes lunch. Pairs receiving top scores will be awarded Gold Masterpoints. We need a minimum of 5 tables to hold this important event; you must register by September 24 by emailing the Club at kopbridgeclub@gmail.com or call 610–232–2250. You can also register in person at the Director's desk. We will still be running our regular 0–500 game in parallel at 10 AM.

Special Junior Fund Game
On Monday, August 21, at 6:00 PM we will host the ACBL-wide Junior Fund Game. You can earn upgraded masterpoint awards and support Junior bridge programs by playing in this special event. Here’s what makes this ACBL-wide game special:
- Compete in a larger field (all participating clubs!)
- Earn upgraded masterpoint awards
- Receive a hand analysis after the game
- Raise funds for Junior bridge programs
Top-finishing pairs in the overalls and in each district will earn extra masterpoints (20 points for overall winner, 10 points for first in each district). They’ll also be recognized in the Bridge Bulletin!

New! Points and Pointers: We are very excited to offer Points and Pointers, a new limited game and lesson for those new to Duplicate Bridge (players may hold no more than 20 masterpoints). This is an ACBL–sanctioned game with masterpoints awarded to the winners. The pilot game will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, January 18, so mark your calendars. Master Instructor John Dickenson will lead this session; players will play up to 12 pre–dealt boards with a brief analysis of each deal immediately after it is played. You also will be able to sign up for a free ACBL trial membership at the session (or you can sign up now here). Cost is $15 for the game and lesson. Mini–Lessons Are Back! Our popular Saturday Mini–Lessons have resumed! Rex Saffer will present a discussion of selected topics in offensive and competitive bidding, declarer play, and defensive tactics from 9:30–10:00 AM before the 0–500 Limited game. The conversation will focus on fundamentals and is directed toward for beginning and advancing players. Example hands and deals reinforce subject material and provide concrete, useful guidance to improve your play and enjoyment of our beloved game. Players attending the parallel Come Out And Play session are also welcome. Plan to front–load essential carbs for the game with a variety of complimentary fresh bagels and cream cheeses.

Intermediate Bridge Lessons: Join our latest Intermediate Lesson Series with Director and Instructor Marc Labovitz. Wonder what your partner’s bid means? Not sure if it is forcing? Unsure how best to describe your hand, how to make a forcing bid, how to limit your hand? Improve your bidding and improve your game!
Marc will teach a two session class, Demystifying the Bidding, at 9:45 AM on November 10 and 17. Cost for the two sessions is $50; a minimum of 12 students is necessary for the class to run.
Current Beginner Lesson Series
