1. Regional Pairs Competition October 2025

First place: Carmel Gleeson and Kevin Kennedy

Second Place: Marie O'Mara and George Ryan

Carmel and Kevin will go forward to represent South Midlands Region at the National Pairs Competition  (Masters section) in Ennistymon in February 2026. 

2. South Midland Trophy December 2025

First Place: Marie O'Mara and Fran Swift

Third Place: Bridget Tinsley and Derna Wallace.

3. Regional Teams Qualifiers Competition Sunday 25 January

First Place (Masters) George Ryan, Fran Swift, Peter Jennings and Liz Jennings

This team will  go forward to represent South Midland in the National Teams Final (Kelbourne Cup, Masters section) in April 2026.

Fourth Place  Mary Tierney /Michelle Heery and Louise Kavanagh/Jack Nolan)

This team will go forward to represent South Midland in the National Teams Final (Tierney Trophy , Intermediate B). 

South Midland Virtual Bridge Club

The last bridge game in the South Midland VBC took place on Sunday 12 October. This virtual club was started by George Ryan during Covid and was enthusiastically supported by many South Midland bridge players.  €26,000 was raised from the many  bridge games  and all proceeds  were donated to Teach Dara - Dawn Walk Counselling  - to provide free counselling to those with suicidal ideation.
