Three members of Kilcullen Bridge Club will take on roles in the South Midland Region: Derma Wallace, President; George Ryan, Secretary; Carmel Gleeson, County Development Officer.

Congratulations to members of Kilcullen Bridge Club who were very successful in the recent South Midland Qualifiers Competition held on Sunday December 3rd in Kilcullen. Bridget Ryan and Joe Hynan were first overall and will represent South Midland Region in the Masters Section in the National Regional Pairs Competition in 2024. Joan Brennan and Mary Finlay will represent South Midland Region in the Intermediate Section in the National Regional Pairs Competition in 2024.

Kilcullen Bridge Club was very successful in the recent South Midland Trophy Competition held on Sunday 12 November with Nora Kelly and Kathy Monks in first place; George Ryan (and Partner Fran Swift, second place; Derna Wallace and Kevin Kennedy, third place; and Jo Coffey and Maria O'Mara, fourth place. Congratulations to all.

Bridge Charity Night in aid of Dawn Walk Monday 9 May

The tournament was held on 9 May and raised over 1000 euro for the Dawn Walk Charity. Many thanks to those who participated.

South Midland Regional Pairs Qualifiers: Intermediate A Section

Congratulations to Mary Finlay and Joan Brennan who were second in the Intermediate A section of the recent South Midland Regional Qualifiers Competition and who go forward to represent the region in the Regional Pairs Finals.

Congratulations to Bridget Ryan and Joe Hynan who took first place in the South Midland Regional Qualifier Competition held in Kilcullen Bridge Club on 3December. They go forward to represent South Midland Region in the Regional Pairs Competition.

Congratulations to Bridget Ryan and Joe Hynan, with partners Pamela Harrington and Eamon Martin Junior, on second place in the Cooper Cup 2024, the national teams competition for Area Master players. The prize was presented by Gordon Lessels, President of CBAI.

Competition Results: The Peacocke-Duffy Trophy February 2024

The winners of the Peacocke-Duffy Trophy 2024 were Marina and Tom Duggan. The trophy was presented by Nessa Dunlea, President.

Dawn Walk Charity Donations: March 2023 Update

The three bridge tournaments of 10 April 2021 raised €2741 for the Dawn Walk emergency counselling service. When this sum is added to the proceeds from the twice weekly competitions, South Midland Virtual Bridge Club has now raised €20,209 for the charity since the SMVBC was established. Many thanks to George Ryan for organising and running the tournaments so well and to all those who participate in the competitions and support the charity. As a result of the monies raised, all those with suicidal ideas in the Kildare and surrounding areas have been able to access counselling.
