IBC Spring Break 2026

The 2026 Spring Break has a change of venue to the Royal Hotel in Bideford and is scheduled for the three nights of Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the 26th, 27th and 28th March 2026.

This hotel is a  'Brend ' type hotel and is indeed run by two members of the Brend family.

It is a significant upgrade to our previous options and also sits in a choice location next to the Tarka Trail. Consequently the room rates reflect this upgrade which stand at £90pppn for standard double and single rooms for dinner, bed and breakfast. Upgrades to Superior rooms are available if requested.

The supplement for single occupancy of a double room is £20pn. The hotel has ample free car parking.

A £20pp non-refundable deposit is required now to book a place on the spring break. This can be paid in cash to Jill or Stuart or by bank transfer to the IBC bank account listed below.

                                                                                                                                                  It is with great sadness that we need to let you all know that 

                                                                                                                                                  Fyfe died on Monday 26th January.

                                                                                                                                                  Fyfe had been a member of our club for many years.

                                                                                                                                                  Our thoughts are with his  family and friends at this sad time.

Welcome to Ilminster Bridge Club. Our club night is Tuesday and we meet in Speke Hall, Dowlish Wake.

We are proud of our reputation as a very friendly club and have members of all standards from improvers upwards.

We usually play a 24-board duplicate pairs session, with between seven and nine tables.

We like to start at 7pm prompt so arrival before 6.50pm would be appreciated so that the director can sort tables and the movement. 

We are affiliated to the  EBU and  now offer master points.

We use an electronic scoring system so that results are available on the night.

We also operate a host system for those without a partner.
