Winners of the Club Pairs Competition

County Mixed Pairs Thursday 29th Jan 

 

The County Mixed Pairs is the first of these inter-island competitions to be held. It is played as a sims competition with Jersey. Les Cotils have agreed to host the Guernsey players on Thursday 29th January at 6:30 for a 6:45 start. The table fee is £3 per player with tea/coffee provided in the room. Of course, the bar is also open for extras. The Guernsey results will be available on the night but will then be amalgamated with Jersey’s results so the overall scores will be made available a little later.  The prize will be awarded at the Interinsular in the autumn. NB It is possible for men’s and ladies pairs to participate but they cannot win the County Mixed Pairs competition.

The CICBA County Teams Qualifiers. These will be on Thursday 5th February 2026 and 12th February 2026 and will be hosted by Les Cotils - 6:30pm for 6:45pm start. The table fee is £3 per player and includes the usual hot drink. NB Competing teams are allowed to have 6 people if the players can’t make both dates. 

 

The winning team in Guernsey then gets to play the finals against the top Jersey team (date  arranged between the 2 teams but will be in Guernsey or possibly on line). The overall winners then qualify for an EBU national competition - the Pacheco Cup in April. I don’t think Jersey or Guernsey have participated in the UK event in recent years so there is quite a lot of flex in practice about when the Channel Island final is held.
