Despite the recent government additional restrictions requiring the mandatory wearing of face masks in village halls (except when eating and drinking) the annual Horning Bridge Club Christmas Party was held on Monday 13th December after missing last year's celebrations due to the pandemic lockdown.  Under the circumstances, the Party was really well-attended with 8 full tables able to play a fun pivot movement resulting in separate N, S, E and W winners.  Additional spot prizes were given to members who took a trick with a 2, making a slam not with their usual partner and prize draw winners. Prizes were presented by Matt Jackson.

The evening winners were:

North Winner: Jim Fletcher (+3,850)

South Winner: Maggie Philipps (-300)

West Winner: Giles Jackson (+2150)

East Winner: Steve Beckley (+2530)

Trick with a 2 Winner: Sue Maisey

Slam not with usual partner: Steve Beckley & Mike Williams

Draw Winners: Brian Cunningham, Jim Fletcher, Jenny Hemmings

This years' AGM was held on 13th September 2021.

The following Officers of the Club and Committee Members announced their retirement from the Committee:-

Peter Bowman (Treasurer), Glenny McAndie (Secretary) and Cynthia Denness (Catering).

Chairman Ann Riley thanked all for their splendid contribution to the succesful running of the Club, especially during the difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic. Retirement gifts were presented to Peter, Glenny and Cynthia by Chairman Ann Riley.

The following members were proposed and seconded by the members as their replacements as Officers of the Club and Committee Members:-

Jim Fletcher (Treasurer), Jane Brown (Secretary) and Sue Davey (Catering)

The remaining existing Officers of the Club and Committee members also agreed to stand for re-election, which was duly proposed, seconded and accepted by the members. The Club welcomes all newly elected and re-elected Committee members.

The newly elected Committee now comprises: Ann Riley (Chairperson), Laurie Platt (Vice Chairman), Jim Fletcher (Treasurer), Jane Brown (Secretary), Sue Davey (Catering), Sue Howes (Partner Finder) and General Committee members Jenny Hemmings and Jenny Pearce.
