| 2026 Winter Away Day |
We held our annual Winter Away Day on January 12th at the Old Rectory, Crostwick.
As always, the venue hosted the occasion with excellent service and efficiency.
We gathered for coffee before play - several members had set out the tables and equipment beforehand.
Attendance was good - we had 14 full tables.
Peter Bowman directed proceedings and we played 8 rounds before breaking for lunch.
The meal was excellent and many members expressed how impressed they were with the quality of the food.

There was more coffee and tea before we played our final 4 rounds of the day.

Everything went smoothly!
Sue Davey, our chair, then presented the prizes.

Hazel Carney and Jill Abbott won the North/South prize.

Maggie Neale and Fred Davis won the East/West prize.
A very successful day!

| AGM and Silver Anniversary Party |
On Monday 22nd September we celebrated the Silver Anniversary of the inaugural meeting of Horning Bridge Club.
The party followed the AGM which saw a record number of 45 attendees!

A sumptuous feast was provided along with Prosecco and an enormous cake.

The cake was made by Sally Church in Neatishead and was delivered, by her, to the hall.

Our Honorary Life President, Suzanne Gill, who founded the club, cut the cake, which was enjoyed by everyone present.

Ann Riley was presented with the Bill Whipp trophy for the person who had most improved their scores over the previous year.

We were thrilled to welcome 7 Founder Members to the party: Jane Brown, Diane Harber, Matt Jackson, Tony Longstaff, Tony Shingler and Tessa Shingler, who had originally booked Horning Village Hall for the Bridge Club in perpetuity.
We now look forward to many more years of playing Bridge.
