Founders Trophy

The best 3 of 5 possible results to qualify playing with the same partner. This is the Club Pairs Championship and the top three pairs qualify for entry to the John Harrison/EDP Cup to be played normally in July each year - see NCBA website for details.

If a non-member happens to have played in any round of the Founders Trophy, that partnership's result will not count in the overall tally of Founders Trophy scores.

Bill Broughton Memorial Shield

A new competition for the Bill Broughton Memorial Shield was held in 2021,  replacing the original format of Random Pairs.

The new competition is awarded to the member achieving the highest average percentage with more than 3 partners.

Bill Whipp Memorial Clock

The Bill Whipp Memorial Clock is an annual competition that determines the most improved Horning Bridge Club player by comparing their average results obtained during the current Club year to the previous Club year.

To qualify members will have to had played at least 18 times during the current and previous Club years.

Over the above comparison periods a positive score shows an improvement in average percentage, whilst a negative score shows a decline.
