*HDBC OPEN GAMES: Our Open games are held every Wednesday and Friday at 1pm, ALL YEAR. Please be seated no later than 12:45 so the Director can set up the game by 1pm. Those arriving after this time, may or may not be included in the game, based on whether or not there is space available (arrive early in the summer season as we have a maximum capacity of 20 tables) or whether the game has already been set up with Bridge Mates activated. The decision to seat you after the 12:45 arrival time is at the discretion of the game's Director. We welcome everyone and appreciate your courtesy to the Director and fellow bridge players!!! Zero Tolerance is in effect for all HDBC games. We will be having Special Games all year, which increases the number of masterpoints for our winners. We have a Board-approved list of special games, posted in the bridge room at the REC CTR if you would like more information.

BRIDGE LESSONS --- CUEBIDDING - DEVELOPED and TAUGHT BY BRENDA MANNING
* WHEN: THURSDAYS, AUGUST 7, 14, 21, 28; SEPT. 4, 11 (6 classes)
TIME: 10AM TO 11:30 – Instruction/Practice
11:30 to noon – Question/Answer; Requested Review
* WHERE: REC CTR – 600 N 4th St., Highlands, NC -
* WHO: EXPERIENCED BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATE PLAYERS; AND ANYONE INTERESTED- NOTE: This class is not for beginners. Some bridge experience is required – Attendees do not have to be duplicate bridge players or members of ACBL.
*CLASS DESCRIPTION: Thorough treatment of main types of cuebids – raises(protection and promotion), conventional (Michaels, Western, Unusual NT), Stayman, Implicit, Desperation, and High-Level Auctions. Guided and Independent Practice and formative and summative REVIEWS in each class.
* COST: $150 for 12 hours of instruction and a Cuebidding Booklet, with all class notes.
