Club Policy Notices

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

This club follows the ACBL Zero Tolerance Policy.  The complete policy is found here.

CONVENTION GUIDELINES

This club uses the ACBL Open Chart as acceptable conventions.  The Chart is found by clicking here.

SCOREKEEPING

Every partnership shall have at least one player keep a written scoresheet that includes the following:  Contract, Declarer, Result, Pair/Team Number, Opponents' Pair/Team Number for the Board in question.  The written scorecard is the validation for contested scoring situations and must be surrendered to the Director on demand.  Claims without a valid written scorecard may not be adjudicated.

SWISS TEAM GAMES

Swiss teams require a minimum of 4 players with a maximum of 6 players.  Teams must be organized and registered prior to the day of the game.  If you need partners or help organizing your team, notify the club directors for assistance.  If you need to cancel your reservation, give notice no later than 8:00 PM on the day before the game.  Failure to show up for a Swiss game without cancellation will result in punitive measures.

PSYCHIC CALLS (BIDS) DURING AN AUCTION

  • No psychic call will be allowed against any opponent that is rated below 1000 MPs.
  • Psychs of artificial calls are prohibited.
  • Any one-level opening bid or any overcall that does not meet the Rule of 17 will be deemed a psychic call.  Any off-shaped takeout double made on fewer than 13 high-card points will be deemed a psych (if the double has at least a 4-4 holding in the majors, the HCP threshold will be lowered to 12 HCP);  The HCP thresholds for off-shape takeout doubles at the one level in the balancing chair are one HCP lower, respectively.
  • No more than one psychic call will be allowed per session.  More than one psych in a session will be deemed a partnership agreement, upon which director may issue failure-to-alert penalties at his/her discretion.
  • When the situation is unclear on whether a call is a psych, the director will be the final arbiter.

The first violation of this policy will result in a penalty of either 3 or half of the matchpoints at stake on the board in question (whichever is greater) in a pairs game, or 6 IMPs in a Swiss team game.

SMOKING

No smoking is permitted in any interior areas.  Smoking may continue in outdoor areas away from the entry doors.
