Chairman’s Annual Report 2025-26

We continued to play Bridge online on Monday evenings throughout the year at a cost of only £1 per person per session. We didn’t charge a membership fee. Probably the cheapest quality Bridge anywhere, but our costs are rising with both the EBU and RealBridge increasing their fees. We continue to attract players from elsewhere in the county and also other parts of the country.

We held a belated Christmas party F2F in an afternoon in early January. Although enjoyed by everyone who played, it wasn’t as well attended as previous ones held in December. We also held an afternoon F2F summer event. Both were well received by those that played thanks to the fine spread prepared by Anne Short & Lesley Peers. We are holding another F2F event this summer on 24th July and a Christmas party on Friday 11th December both in the afternoon.

Many of our members did well in County and National competitions; e.g.

Naomi & Mike won the Herts Championship pairs final, and our members took four the top 6 places

Jeff Green, Arni Anidjar-Romain, Helen Robinson & Karima Basse won the Herts Senior teams and Jeff & Arni came 7th in the National pairs final
