The next HBA Green Pointed Swiss Pairs event will be held on Sunday 1st March at Jersey Farm Community Centre At Albans AL4 9RG.  For those who have played in one of our Swiss events before you know all about it.  If you have not, why not try it out?  As it’s a Swiss event after the first random draw for the first round you will play another pair on the same or similar score to yourself. This means you will have matches against a pair who are doing as well as you most of the time. It’s a great way to develop your game and provides an easy opportunity to see how you are doing when you play against folk you may not have played against regularly.  This is a friendly, welcoming event designed for players of all standards. 

Herts members are eligible for a reduction on the entry fee of £25 and will only have to pay £15 each.  There are some cash prizes from £50 to £30/pair,  including an ascenders prize which means that even if you have a few “unlucky” scores in your first few matches you still have a chance of a prize all the way to the end of the event.  

We will provide a stand-by pair for the event and are looking for a pair who might like to help with this.  We are offering £50/pair if you do not play and free entry plus £20 if you are a Herts member and you do.  You would need to come to the site on the day prepared to play and if not needed, you will be able leave just after the start time of 11.00am.  If you are interested in helping us with this please contact Srimath on srimathatbridge@gmail.com.
