Roy Hughes |
Roy Hughes was a long term member of our club being Chairman many years until his death in 2019. He was instrumental in moving the club from Heighington to Bassingham when it became difficult to find a suitable venue in Heighington. He was an excellent player representing the county on many occasions and worked tirelessly to promote Bridge in the local area, chairing both Heighington and Bassingham bridge clubs.

MONDAY DUPLICATE EVENINGS. |
In order to facilitate the smooth running of the weekly pairs events, would players please follow the following guidelines.
1. The hall is usually available from 18.30 so early arrivals are asked to assist the director in the preparation of up to ten tables with cloths and bidding boxes.
2. Players are asked be seated by 18.45.
3. On arrival the director will issue a playing card to each pair. A black card indicates for that pair to sit N/S at the number drawn and a red card to sit E/W. When the director has started play each North should activate the Bridgemate, fill in the table number and players ID numbers and check they have the correct boards.
4. At the completion of each board North will enter the result and hand it to East or West for verification. East/West please check carefully before accepting the result. . At the end of the round North is responsible for passing the boards on to the next table in the correct order for play.
5. Players should be prepared to play two board rounds in 15 minutes and three board rounds in 21 minutes. Any table falling badly behind may be instructed not to play their final board and the score will be averaged at the director's discretion.
6. At sitting tables, for some movements, there will arrow switches for some rounds. (Usually rounds 2 and 3) The Bridgemate will always indicate the correct orientation and all players should be aware of this. If a table has failed to arrow switch please inform the director immediately.
7. After play the scorer will usually score and upload the results to Bridgewebs by 22.10 hrs. The scoring will then be submitted to the EBU
