In 1990 our group was established by Derek Johnson, at his home called Gowerdale, to play Duplicate Bridge using the ACOL weak no trump system

 

A Christmas lunch is held each year in either November or December. The Annual General Meeting is held each year in March or April. It is held on a Wednesday, before bridge, starting at 1.15 p.m. Every effort is made to have it as short as possible. To facilitate this, resolutions and nominations for office should be handed to the secretary at least 10 days before the meeting. There is no A.O.B. at the AG.M.

 

• Bridge starts at 1.30p.m. on Wednesday afternoons. Please be seated by 1.15 pm to allow time for notices and distribution of boards.

There is a tea break at roughly 3.10 – 3.20 p.m. The session usually ends by 5.00 p.m.

 Please remember to bring your own cup/mug AND TAKE IT HOME TO WASH

 

• Table money is £3.00 for the afternoon.

 

• We play Basic ACOL with weak NTs .

• On the first round of the afternoon, if a hand is passed out, the cards should be shuffled and re-dealt.

• North is responsible for entering the scores on the travellers and these should be checked by East ..

• Please write the names of all four players and the number of the board on the traveller. Remember also to put the board number on the top right hand corner of each traveller.

We realise that there is much to talk about between hands but please keep the volume down as it disturbs those who are still playing

 

• Return bidding boxes, to the table at the rear of the hall and boards and travellers to the designated point  Put chairs away in the the storage room behind the stage.  If there are still people playing when you leave, please do so quietly
