| Playing bridge in Greystones Bridge Centre |
Playing in Greystones Bridge Clubs
Playing bridge is an integral and important part of learning the game. As part of your learning journey, perhaps after completing one or both of the Beginners’ courses or indeed all three courses, you will be eligible to join any of the seven bridge clubs affiliated to the Greystones Bridge Centre.
All the Greystones bridge clubs have ‘open summer bridge’ when they are open to non-club members during the summer months of June, July and August. Normally you are required to join a bridge club in order to play regularly in that club. You can also play occasionally as a guest invited by a club member.
Some clubs may offer a novice section with ‘assisted bridge’, i.e. an experienced bridge player is available to assist you while you play. This is a very helpful and easy way for you to transition into playing in a club.
Playing in clubs during the summer months is a good opportunity for you to sample each of the clubs before you decide which one or ones to join. Most players are members of several clubs!
The fee to play in a club is normally €5 per session i.e. a morning, afternoon or evening.
Moving from ‘Novice’ to Higher Grades
As a new learner you begin your bridge learning journey at the ‘Novice’ grade. Progression to higher grades may not be a priority for you at the moment but for your information the CBAI lists the bridge player Grades
Wishing you every success in your bridge learning journey!
