In a change from previous years, the CBAI has mandated that the Master Points awarded for club competitions can only be awarded to affiliated members of the club and not to visitors, even though they may be affiliated to the CBAI in a different club.
 

This means that the Bridge Centre is now responsible for submitting Master Points awards for all the Bridge Centre competitions in addition to those awarded for the Open Week competitions.

In addition, we have awarded Master Points for the competitions held during the trip away to Wexford in March and for the Bridge Centre AGM on 14th May

These master Points will be included on your official CBAI record and used to update your grade for the coming season.

Following our 2026 AGM we had a very enjoyable evening of free bridge with a great turnout and a good fun evening.

Our very best wishes to Terry Brennan as she retires from many years of teaching and organising bridge in the Bridge Centre.

She taught many of our most successful players to play bridge and encouraged players of all levels to enjoy the game of bridge.

Our 3-Day Spring Bridge Break to Whites of Wexford was a great success and enjoyed by all. 
A lot was packed in, 3 days of bridge and evening dinners, a lot of chats & good fun.
Great singalongs on Wednesday & Thursday and Jack Murphy & Tish Balfe providing the music on guitar and ukulela.
Also the ladies did a lot of shopping. A very relaxing and enjoyable trip.

Three Trouts Bridge Club held the inaugural Inter County Plate competition on Wednesday 12th February.

Club President Ronan Murphy and his committee decorated the Centre in great style to reflect all the counties of |ireland and did a huge amount of work to ensure that everyone greatly enjoyed the occasion.

Winners of the Plate were Linda McGeehan and Doreen Lumley.

We have started a new Bridge Club in Greystones Bridge Centre which may be of interest to you. 

It is called Rathdown Bridge Club and runs on Tuesday mornings, 10AM - 1PM.

This club is open to all bridge players who enjoy a sociable game of bridge.

It is especially suitable for those who have recently finished bridge classes as Brendan Martin, the Tournament Director, will give some assistance in bidding if requested.

Brendan also sends an analysis of some of the hands after the game to any interested players.

The club is run in a similar way to the other Bridge Clubs which play in Greystones Bridge Centre.
Those wishing to join the club will need to become members of Greystones Bridge Centre when joining Rathdown Bridge Club.

However, there is no need to do anything in advance of coming for the first time - just come along in time for play.

Rathdown Bridge Club is fully affiliated to the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland.

Table money is €5, and cash prizes are awarded on a weekly basis.

While the bridge starts at 10AM, it is important for you to be present by 9.45 AM, as the TD needs to set up the bridge movement in accordance with the number of players.

There was an excellent entry of 18.5 tables in the Eoin Mac Neill Trophy on Wednesday 25th February.  When play finished a delicious supper was served which was prepared by John Yek and his Committee.
During supper Eoin MacNeill gave his expert analysis on some of the 24 boards played.  Prizes were then presented by Eoin Mac Neill  & John Yek.
