Welcome to Friendly Bridge SW
About Us
About Us

Welcome to Friendly Bridge SW, we are a non-EBU affiliated club whose purpose is to facilitate relaxed and friendly bridge sessions for people of all abilities. Visitors are always welcome and a partner is guaranteed if you turn up on your own.  Owned and operated by Gareth Evans, the Club meets four times per week at the following venues.

Friendly Bridge @ Stoke Bishop meets every Monday evening at Stoke Bishop Village Hall.

Friendly Bridge @ Filton meets every Wednesday morning at St Teresa's Church Hall.

Friendly Bridge @ Alveston meets every Wednesday evening at Alveston Methodist Church Hall.

Friendly Bridge Fridays meets every Friday morning at St Edyth’s church in Sea Mills.

See the "Information" page for more details.

The Clubs operate with Duplimated boards and electronic table-top scoring from ArcScorer.

I also have an extensive teaching programme covering all abilities from total Beginner onwards.  For more details please see the "Teaching" page.

Filton 19th February & 11th March

On 19th February and 11th March, we will be unable to use St Theresas Church Hall.  For those mornings only, bridge will be held at St Vincent's Parish Hall, corner of Embledon Road/Glencoyne Square, Southmead, BS10 6DS.

Parking at St Edyth’s

There have been complaints about poor parking at St Edyth’s.  Please do not park in disabled bays unless you have a blue badge.  Also, please do not park on the pavement in Avonleaze as this could impede emergency services access to the school next door.

Need a Partner?

If you need a partner for any session, but do not wish to come along without one, please email Gareth on or call 07921-788605 and I'll endeavour to find you someone.  Obviously, you are still welcome to come along alone as I am always there as host.

Arrival Time and Partners Guaranteed

Please note, we often start very promptly, so please try and arrive 10 minutes before scheduled start time, or call in advance if you will be later.  People who arrive unexpectedly after that time may not be able to play.  Don't forget that you can always turn up to any of our sessions without a partner and a game is guaranteed.
