Notice of an Extraordinary General Meeting of Emsworth Bridge Club to be held at 7.00pm on Tuesday, May 12^th.

The committee of the Emsworth Sports & Social Club have decided that those sections of the club which have exclusive use of the function room for evening playing sessions (like the bridge club) will be required to pay a room hire fee of £20 per hour from July 1^st. Additionally, from January 1^st next year you will no longer be required to join the ESSC to play at the bridge club. There is a further Committee meeting on May 11^th at which David will ask for a review of that earlier decision.

If the decision is confirmed then we would need to introduce a fee of £4 per evening for attendance at Tuesday evening bridge, starting on July 1^st.

The Bridge Club committee have decided to call an Extraordinary General Meeting of members at 7.00pm on Tuesday, May 12^th to discuss options for the continuation of the club and to decide what to do.

There are basically 3 options:

                Accept the hire charge and the introduction of a playing fee.

                Move to an alternative venue

                Close the club

The agenda for the meeting will be

1. Apologies for Absence
2. Latest feedback from the ESSC committee meeting
3. Decision on future operation of the Bridge Club
