Café Bridge, Elgin 2025 |
I wanted to share a little backstory about why I’m organizing this event for the centre. Did you know that Sean and I lived in Elgin for over 14 years, completely unaware there was a bridge club or that it even offered lessons? We only found out when Sean happened to speak to someone about it. That’s why I’m so passionate about raising bridge’s visibility in our local community, and I thought Cafe Bridge would be such a fun and unique way to do it. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring people together, showcase the game, and highlight the fantastic community here.
I also thought it might be helpful to list the venues we’ve confirmed so far on the site. These are the ones we’ve got so far (with two still to be decided):
Proceeds from the event will go to our local CLAN charity, and the cost is £30. That includes a welcome tea or coffee and lunch at one of the venues.
What is Cafe Bridge?
Cafe Bridge is a fun, competitive duplicate pairs bridge event hosted across multiple venues like cafes, restaurants, pubs, and hotels. Players move to a different venue after each round, following a movement card and roadmap, while the boards remain at each location.
It’s more than just a bridge game, though. There’s a huge social aspect, and it’s a wonderful way to promote bridge to the wider community while raising money for a good cause. Just one condition—grumpiness isn’t allowed! 😄

The Andrew Robson event raised
a total of £2,360
for the charity MND Scotland.
Thank you to everyone who supported
the event, we have raised a substantial
amount of money and hopefully
learnt a couple of things from the
bridge master himself, Mr Andrew Robson.

Elgin Bridge Centre |
 |
Elgin Bridge Centre was founded in 1999 when seven bridge clubs joined forces under one roof in central Elgin. The clubs retain their separate identities, but have a central committee to manage mutual affairs. There are facilities available to all clubs for tea, coffee etc. The Centre also hosts regular social and fund raising events, usually on Saturday evenings.
The Centre welcomes new members and holds classes for beginners and novice players, and visitors are most welcome. For more general information about the Centre itself contact any member of the Board of Directors (opposite). For more about the different clubs please follow the links to the individual clubs.
