| Club Teams Championship THIS WEEK! |
We are holding the annual Club Teams Championship on Tuesday 18 March 2025 (with the winners to have entry to the Surrey CBA Wanborough Cup competition). We will have a sign-up sheet, or you can email the club by clicking here, if you are looking for team-mates. Teams have to be composed of club members to be eligible for the trophy or the Wanborough Cup.

| COME TO DITTON BRIDGE CLUB FOR FACE TO FACE BRIDGE in 2025! |
Ditton Bridge Club runs FACE TO FACE Sessions at the Thames Ditton Centre, Mercer Close, KT7 0BS at 7.30pm every Tuesday. The Thames Ditton Centre is opposite the Thames Ditton Library and has a large car park outside and easy access from it to the building. There is a kitchenette which we use to provide tea and coffee (and biscuits). We are charging £5 per member and £6 per visitor (which includes refreshments). There will usually be a host for those without a partner except on Club Championship evenings (see dates below). Please advertise that Ditton Bridge Club is open in the heart of the Dittons; and come along to meet and play duplicate bridge across actual tables!”

| Pairs Championship |
Following discussions at the AGM, the Pairs Championship for the John Harris Cup began on 1st October 2024. (Apologies for the aborted session on 10th September.) The format this season is to hold seven qualifying sessions, mostly one month apart, where the average of a pair's best four scores are used to calculate the winners. The final round will take place on 1st April.
The Plate will follow a similar format on the same evenings, being awarded to the best pair neither of whom have an NGS higher than 8 on the 1st April 2025. To qualify for either competition both partners must be members before their first qualifying session.

| CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLUB PAIRS CHAMPIONS 2023-2024 |
Congratulations to Marion Hart and Ken Wilshire who won a closely contested 2024 Club Pairs Championship.
They are awarded the John Harris Cup which has been running since 1950. Click here to see a list of former winners.
Congratulations also to the Plate Winners, Eddie and Evelyn Bleasdale who were top placed finishers with an NGS no higher than eight.

| David Wadey 1918-2021 |
 Some of our members will remember David Wadey
who played at the club for many years.
Before he passed away, he provided us with a memoir of his life
including his wartime experiences at Dunkirk and El Alamein
as well as his many years of playing bridge.

| ENGLISH BRIDGE UNION NATIONAL PAIRS COMPETITION 2022-2023 |
Well Done to Andrew Bannock and John Dagnall who finished 3rd in this year's EBU National Pairs competition. In the first round, they qualified from a session at Ditton Bridge Club (and then only coming second), so have a go next year and see if you can do one (or two) better!

We are in Surrey County's Borough of Elmbridge, just outside the London Borough of Kingston upon Thames, & very near to Surbiton, Hinchley Wood, Esher & East Molesey. We are not at all far from Claygate, New Malden, Hampton Court, Hook, Tolworth & Chessington.
