The Coventry & District Bridge League consists of both face-to-face divisions and an online division. We hope there is an opportunity for all our local, national, European and international players to participate!

The CBL 2023 Entry Form is available and includes details of the event's organisation and a list of the teams playing this year. Enquires can be made to CBL League Secretary.

The Coventry Pairs League is back. Organised with our county association, Warwickshire County Bridge Association.

We are now taking entries for the next series starting Thursday Feb 22nd. New pairs are welcomeFlyer for Series 2 and further details and enquires to Email Graham Cope.

Closing date for entries and payment is 9th February, 2024.

Why not give it a try?

The Coventry Pairs League runs on the fourth Thursday of the month (except in December when it is the third Thusday) across two five-month series from September to January and then February to June, with each pair playing every other pair in the division twice.  It is IMP (teams) scoring (actually cross-imps because each pair scores with the other pairs sitting in the opposite direction within their division) converted into a Victory Points scale of 20-0.  Between each series the bottom two pairs are relegated and top two pairs promoted within the divisional structure.

The competition page now includes the results.

If you are interested in entering, or being a substitute, then please let us know (Email the organisers).

Three Spires Shield

A light-hearted teams evening with a cooked supper, running from September to April inclusive, and staged (usually) on the third Sunday of the month. There is a random draw for team-mates, with the proviso that no two pairs can be drawn together as team-mates more than once. Scoring is done via a hybrid method involving ranking points and victory points, and the final ranking is calculated on the basis of each pair’s best 5 scores. The supper is considered an integral part of the event, and players are requested to attend this part of the evening.

2023/4 competition - Entries are now open for teams to play in the Three Spires Trophy.
Debbie Page has kindly offered to organise the catering this year (with assistance from Anne Elvidge).
Although the meal is considered to be part of the event, members who wish to play and not partake of
the meal are also welcomed. Players should arrive for the meal by 5.50pm, and play will start at 7pm.

The entry list will be on the noticeboard at the club, but if you will not be visiting the club please let Ann
or Debbie know that you wish to play

Anglo-Polish Trophy

This event is not running in 2023/4.

Handicap teams, held on the first Tuesday of each month from September to April inclusive. Ranking points for each session are awarded to the top eight teams in a section, on the scale 10:8:6:5:4:3:2:1. For the final two sessions there will be a draw for team-mates, random save for the proviso that pairs who are in contention for a prize will not be drawn together. The final ranking is calculated on the basis of each pair’s best 5 scores.

The Anglo-Polish 2022-3 Results are now available. Congratulations to Martin Lythell & Ann Ridgway, and John Baxter & Mike Adams were joint first pairs (best 5 weekly scores from the 8 sessions of the competition).

If you require a partner or team-mates please see the notice on the secretary's board
