Weekly Competitions

♠   ♣

With effect from 9 September, numbers permitting, there will be a third competition for Novices and B grade players.

There will be three sections as follows:

(1) The A Section (Red tablecloths) for A1 and Master players

(2) The B Section (Blue tablecloths) for A2 players and A1 players playing with an A2

(3) The C Section (Green tablecloths) for B and Novice players

Players can choose to play in a section above their grade but generally not below their grade

i.e. B and Novice players can play in the B or A section, they do not have to play in the C section;

A2 players can play in the B or A section but cannot play in the C section unless playing with a B or Novice player

A1 players must play in the A section unless playing with an A2 player in which case they can play in the A or B section

To faciliate the setting up of the third (C) competition, we ask players not to sit at the tables

with the green tablecloths unless they are a Novice or B player or all the blue tables have been filled.

A separate competition for Novices and B players will only be run if there are at least 4 full tables in this section

Congratulations to Peter Rooney on winning the 2026 President's Prize. To access the results, please click HERE (there was a Bridgemate glitch that meant some names were missing and so the usual results format could not be used).

Congratulations to all the prizewinners, a nice combination of the usual suspects and some new faces.
