After a few false starts I went to bridge classes given by Gretta Scully and she was brilliant, at the end of year she asked some members of the bridge club ( Clonakilty) to come and play with us so we would be ready to join the club. I was anxious going into the club on the first night but it was unfounded. Everyone welcomed me and made me feel at ease. There are all age groups in the club and each and everyone are very helpful. Members asked me to play  with them and my anxiety quickly disappeared.  The members are very patient with new members and patiently offer advice without being bossy. It’s six months since I joined the club and I am enjoying it immensely. It is also an outlet meeting people twice a week and I look forward eagerly to Monday afternoons and Thursday evenings in O’Donovans Hotel.
