Clevedon and Portishead Bridge Clubs were established by Colin and Lesley Floyd in 1992 and 1997 respectively. The two clubs later moved to the same premises in Portishead but continued to maintain separate identities.

On 1st August 2017 it became a single member owned club affiliated to the EBU and plays duplicate events every Wednesday evening beginning at 7pm.  EBU masterpoints are issued. 

We generally have 7-8 tables and aim to play 27 boards.  If you haven't got a partner you should contact David Serle, who will help you find one.

We play for the Floyd Memorial Trophy on the first Wednesday of the month, points being awarded for position after the application of handicaps, which are determined by NGS grade, also that we play for the Percentage Trophy on the third Wednesday of the month.  Each player's best 8 scores over the year determine the final ranking for both events, and players have to compete in at least 8 sessions to qualify. Friday sessions have been replaced by Woodspring Online.

Members will now be aware that Daphne Patrick passed away on 25th August. Daphne had been a member of our club for many years and only stopped playing at The Ship when the stairs became too much for her. Still enjoying her games, she continued to play with us online until the end of July. Her many achievements are recorded elsewhere, but one of particular note is that she used to teach beginners, amongst which were Graham and Salma Daniel. They met for the first time in Daphne's dining room and subsequently married. That really is making an impact on other people's lives! We send our condolences to Liz Hale and the rest of Daphne's family. Details of the funeral have been sent out by email.

The club is participating in this EBU organised event on Monday 5th October. We will be playing the same boards as hundreds of other players in clubs all over the UK. You play against fellow members of your club, but the results are calculated across the whole field. The session will be played on RealBridge starting at 7pm. Table money is £5, which covers the EBU's charge for running the event. We will play 27 boards and should finish at about 10pm. Members are welcome, as usual, to play with a guest, but will be charged for their table money. An expert commentary on the hands played will be available after the event. Come and join the fun and give yourself the chance to earn a hatful of master points.

RealBridge sessions are restricted to club members of Clevedon & Portishead, Kingston Seymour and invited guests - we're always open
to contact from like-minded players. 

We intend to play 22 boards in 2 board rounds on Friday evenings,
starting play at 7:00pm prompt and aiming to finish by 9:00pm or very soon thereafter.

Sessions are charged at £1.50 per person.
