South Shropshire Bridge Teams League |
The inaugural round of the annual South Shropshire Bridge Teams League has been won by The Wrekin Bridge Club! The league involved teams from 6 Bridge Clubs (in merit order: Wrekin, Ludlow U3A, the Strettons, Bridgnorth, Condover, Craven Arms) and was played over the six months from September 2023 to March 2024. The trophy will be awarded to Wrekin at the Craven Arms BC Teams Event on 9 June. Additional teams have already asked to join the next cycle of the League which is expected to start in September 2024. This is yet another Strettons BC initiative aimed at boosting Bridge in South Shropshire. All those involved had fun and are looking forward to the next round! THE CLUB |
You are very welcome at our club!
The STRETTONS BRIDGE CLUB meets every Thursday at 1.00 in All Stretton Village Hall for a relaxed, enjoyable and informal session of duplicate bridge. We welcome players of all levels, including beginners, so long as you know the basics (and if you don't but would like to, see "Learning and Improving"). Feel free to bring crib notes or ask Dom or Martin for advice at any stage during the bidding or play. No need to bring a partner - we have a host system.

Congratulations to Lynwen Gott for winning the inaugural David Maddocks Memorial Award for the Club's most sociable player. I'm sure that David would have been suitably chuffed.
