The main object of league is to promote contract bridge. The primary means is the provision of suitable competitions between contract bridge bridge clubs (or bridge sections of other clubs) while keeping travel to a minimum.
  General Rules

Competitions shall be held at such times and under such conditions as the general committee or any sub-committee shall determine. The only limitation on players is that all competitors must be of good standing in the bridge community i.e. not subject to ban for misconduct by any governing body. There shall be be no discrimination on the basis of race, religion or sexual orientation. Other than for specific forms of a competition (eg. Ladies Pairs) there shall be no discrimination based on sex.

Any suggestions or complaints regarding the arrangements of "The League" shall be submitted in writing and handed to any member of the general committee and shall be considered at the next committee meeting or referred to a suitable governing body.

"The League" has no venue and accepts no responsibility whatever for the property or belongings of any member or visitor whilst on any premises rented or otherwise made available to "The League".

Any matter not provided for in these regulations and all questions arising regarding their construction or implication shall be decided by the general committee.

The Chairman, Treasurer and members of the general committee shall not be responsible, either individually or jointly, for any liabilities incurred by "The Club". All members shall be equally responsible for any liabilities incurred during their time of membership. The executive will seek to minimise these risks by arranging insurance covering third parties and the assets of the League.

Alterations, additions or amendments to these regulations and constitution cannot be made except by a resolution at a general meeting. The chairman and treasurer shall be elected at each AGM. The general committee will consist the executive and all teams of eight captains. Clubs who only enter teams of four or Elimination pairs may have a representative on the committee. The executive may appoint a long-standing member of the League as President and co-opt members of the league for special projects.

If "the League" disbands all remaining funds and assets shall be shared equally among the English Bridge Union, The Berks & Bucks Contract Bridge Association and the Oxfordshire Contract Bridge Association.
