Information |
Chew Valley Bridge Club was founded as a members' club in 1987. It is a friendly duplicate club situated in the Chew Valley in North East Somerset, nine miles south west of Bristol. The club started off life playing in various venues in Chew Magna but since 2007 the club has been based in Chew Stoke. We always welcome visitors and potential new members and try to make them feel at home. The club is affiliated to the English Bridge Union (EBU) and the Somerset Contract Bridge Association (SCBA). From 2022 the membership subscription, will be £5 per annum with a table fee of £2.50 (£3.50 for non members). The club strongly supports the EBU’s 'Best Behaviour at Bridge' policy, details of which can be found under 'EBU Information'.

BS40 8XD

Further Information |
The Club meets on a weekly basis around 43 times a year playing duplicate pairs, except for three occasions when we have our Spring Teams, Summer Teams, and Autumn Teams evenings. The playing season runs from September through to the end of July. Every year we have a Summer Drinks Party and a Christmas Party. At the Christmas Party presentations are made to the Club's 'Player of the Year' and to the Club's 'Most Improved Player'. The winner of the 'Christmas Competition' is also awarded their prize.
If you can play bridge but haven't yet ventured into a club then give us a try at one of our regular meetings. Alternatively come to one of the occasional evenings we have for new or inexperienced players. This may well encourage you to become a member. We have players of differing standards but what unites us all is enjoying a fascinating game in a friendly atmosphere in a very comfortable venue.
