Chepstow u3a Duplicate Bridge Club was established on 1^st February 2018. We now have fifty plus active members. We meet weekly on Monday evenings and Thursday afternoons at Sedbury and Beachley Village Hall. Our number one aim is to play competitive bridge in a friendly relaxed environment and be welcoming to all who can play at the required speed.

Depending on numbers attending, we usually play 24 to 27 boards using either a Howell or a Mitchell movement. Our table money is only £2 and the first Monday and Thursday in the month is free. We score using  Bridgemate 2's.

For beginners, or those who have not played bridge for some time, why not try our Friday morning social rubber bridge group? You do not need a partner for this; just turn up and ask for Chris or Kerie.

To mark the start of our eighth year playing at Sedbury all Monday and Thursday members are invited to a celebration party on Thursday February 6th.  It will be a Random partner Chicago bridge afternoon.  Drinks and some food will be provided but like last year any extra items will be greatly appreciated.  We will try to accommodate as many members as we can.  In this format of the game we do need full tables of four.

There will be a prize table and a ‘spot prize bucket’ during play for exceptional bridge players – qualification details will be on your table!

I'll look after the mechanics of the game, Denise will look after the catering and Colin S will handle seat allocation on arrival.

The U3A social Bridge Group play on a Friday morning between 10.00 a.m  and 12. 00 a.m. at Sedbury Village Hall. The convenors are Chris and Kerie.

Just turn up before the start time, if you do not have a partner Chris and Kerie should be able to fix you up with one.  We play rubber bridge, in the main using the ACOL bidding system but if all four players at a table want to use a separate system then they may do so as long as everyone agrees.
