We will be running two heats of the SBU SIMS. on Tuesday 18th October online and Thursday Afternoon 20th October face to face.  They will have different hands so you can play in both.  There will be a booklet available written by an expert describing how the bidding and play should go in each of the hands.  These are Simultaneous Pairs run in lots of clubs all over Scotland.  The results are re-scored over the whole field.  If you do well you could win lots of Masterpoints and the pair with the best score over the four days will win the Lord Thomson Trophy.   There will be an additional cost for these events  £1.60 for face to face and 2 BBO$ for online.

Signing up for tournaments

If members wish to play in the F2F Monday, Thursday or Friday tournaments, please sign up by noon the day before. This is to allow the tournament and catering to be cancelled in good time if numbers are insufficient.


Covid-19 Update June 22

All legal restrictions to help manage COVID - 19 in Scotland have been removed which means that wearing face coverings is now only guidance. However we ask that you respect the personal preferences of any members if they wish to continue wearing a face covering whilst playing bridge.

Although legal restrictions have gone:Can we kindly ask all members to remember that Covid is still with us so we ask you all to apply the basic principles of preventing the spread of Covid-19.  please do not attend if you have a fever ,a cold or cough.

We continue to recommend that members who wish to play face to face Bridge are fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and test negative if exposed to Covid-19 before playing F2F again.

Please continue to practice the advice on respiratory and hand hygiene. 

We as the Carlton Club Board will continue to maintain good ventilation and a high level of cleanliness in the club. 

Fire Assembly Point

All Club users should be aware that if the fire alarm sounds they should leave the building and go to the the Assembly Point signed at the bottom right hand corner (as you leave) of the car park.
