Bah Humbug - 29th December |
With Christmas and New Year often playing havoc with club calendars, the Bah Humbug Pairs aims to fill a festive gap in our bridge lives.
In keeping with the season of goodwill, this event would not claim to be the most serious bridge occasion of the year...which is probably one reason why it has proved popular.
Bah Humbug takes place this year on Friday 29 December at Blackbourne community centre, Blackbourne Road, Elmswell (IP30 9UH) starting at 11am. Depending on numbers, about 26 boards will be played.
To enter, please the visit the SCBA website and click on BAH HUMBUG Please bring your own lunch.

New monthly Duplicate Handicap |
On 29 June we held the first of a new ‘handicap duplicate’ session. It was a big success and attracted 9 tables. The first winners were Denis Carter & Peter Warren. These sessions will continue on the last Thursday of each month for the foreseeable future
The handicap system will be based on the NGS of each player giving each pair a + or – depending upon their ranking. Players on a low NGS will have the advantage over more highly rated players. A handicap may benefit the less experienced player by giving him or her a better chance, but it also benefits the better player by producing more of a challenge.
All club members and newcomers welcome, the usual table money of £2.50 per person applies. Bury Bridge Club play at 7pm at Southgate Community Centre. Please arrive from 6.30pm.

REALBRIDGE |
REALBRIDGE.
A link will be shown on our website, simply click on that and you will be able to join
Once on the home page you will need to fill in your name and EBU membership number in the ID box and then join a table, opposite your partner, if they are already there. If they are not there just click on an empty space. It’s as easy as that!
Three more points to take note of:-
- Use Chrome rather than Edge as your browser – RealBridge works much better on Chrome
- If you lose connection – Refresh or log back in again
- If necessary you can control the volume when playing by clicking on the mic symbol to the right of a person’s name.
Some people have found circular blue & white icons appearing in front of their bidding cards if they are using Edge - they appear as image001.png and image002.png
It is caused by a feature of Edge called "Visual Search". This feature should be disabled for the RealBridge site. To do that, hover over the icon (or the upper of the two icons), so that you can see the lower icon with three dots in it. Click on the three dots, and a submenu will appear, like this: image003.png
Then do "hide for this site" (if you want to disable this feature for all websites you can instead do "hide always")
If you need a partner please contact Joan 01284 787286 and she will send an email round to members.
