Welcome to Broughton Bridge Club
Presidents Day Competition

On Saturday 11th July the Club will be holding it's annual Presidents Day event where all the clubs activities are on show.

In support of this we will be holding a Bridge Competition starting at 1pm. The competition will have  cash prizes and a trophy for the winners. The competition is open to all levels of skills and experience and everyone in the competition will also be allocated a handicap based on their playing records. There will be a handicap prize.

There is a limit of 8 tables as we will be playing in the Wilson room so entry is on a first come basis. The sign up sheet is on the notice board in the Wilson room.

Relaxed Duplicate Bridge

On Thursdays every week there are two relaxed duplicate sessions where you can simply turn up and play. No partner is required.

These sessions are run by one or more of our directors who will attempt to keep you on the straight and narrow ,by following the rules of duplicate bridge, these sessions are deliberately short [not much more than 2 hours] and only up to 15 boards will be played.

In addition if you get stuck with what to do you can ask our directors or use a 'crib sheet' to help you find the answer.

These sessions are suitable for players beginning bridge or those who feel the need a refresher or want to play without feeling under pressure. Others feel they just need the practice.

Both members [Table Money £2] and non-members [Table Money £4] are welcome.

Not only are these sessions open and relaxed but they are also by their very nature aimed at simple bidding systems [mostly Acol Foundation System]. If you are playing Roman KeyCard Blackwood for example then you would probably be too advanced and more suited to joining our regular club session.

Scoring on Thursday sessions are done using the, simple to use, Bridgemate Scoring system.  If you are unfamiliar with Bridgemates, we will be happy teach how to use them.

If you want to know more please contact Steven Rogers - email stevenwithav@gmail.com or just turn up.

Thursday Mornings in the Wilson Room  start at 10am.

Thursday Evenings in the Wilson Room start at 7pm

Welcome to Broughton Bridge Club
Welcome to Broughton Bridge Club

Broughton Bridge Club is part of the Broughton and District Club, a members’ only social club, which has been serving the local communities of Broughton, Fulwood, Barton and Goosnargh since 1890. As well as these areas Club members come from as far a field as Preston, Garstang, Freckleton and Longridge – gateway to the Ribble Valley.

Our close proximity to Junction 32 on the M6 M55 interchange makes getting here quick and simple – just check out the Information tab on the left menu.

Visitors are always welcome - there's something to cater for every BridgePlayer, whether you are a beginner, or just keen to improve, or you are an expert!  But don't let the term 'expert' put you off - most of us just enjoy the game for what it is.

You will find that the Club facilities are very good and, together with the friendly atmosphere, plus a mix of Social and Duplicate Bridge to enjoy, we are sure you will want to be part of the experience of being a Club Member.

There are plenty of new people for you to meet and play Bridge with - at your level.

This micro-site for Broughton Bridge Club will give you loads of information about what the Bridge Section for Broughton and District Club are up to and by using the menu on the left you can easily navigate to our Calendar of Events and review Results of all the sessions and competition that we run.

The infrastructure of this web site is provided by Bridgewebs and if you are involved in a Bridge Club and you don’t have a website take a look at them by clicking here
