Why play bridge? |
Playing bridge helps keep your mind active and joining a club helps to improve your play and make new friends. We have provided some guidance on sources of lessons and clubs aimed at beginners. Have a look here.
On a Tuesday morning at 11:00 we are currently running sessions aimed at those who know some of the basics but have never played duplicate bridge - we've started going over the basics of bidding and responding and our subsequent play sessions help participants to learn more about ACOL conventions, duplicate etiquette, using bidding boxes and bridgemates, announcing and alerting etc in a relaxed atmosphere. Please contact our Chairman, Tim , for an informal discussion. The sessions cost £5 per person per week and finish just in time to stay on and get a lunch or drink in the bar.
If you want to try us out but don’t have a playing partner please contact Janet and she will try to pair you up for a session.

COVID-19 |
Although legal restrictions have been lifted please don't attend if you have not been vaccinated or have any covid or cold like symptoms or have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive or is awaiting the results of a test.
Until further notice it would still help with planning if you tell us by midday Monday that you wish to play on Tuesday evening. This will enable us to alert you if there are likely to be too many or too few players or we have had to cancel.
