We've put together some links to sources of advice and online activities. Suggestions for additional sources or topics always welcome:
The NHS has regularly updated general guidance on precautions to take and what to do if you are unwell. Bromley Council has advice for those self-isolating and those wishing to volunteer help.
The EBU has a useful link to sources of online bridge. If you want to play a virtual game with other club members why not register with BBO, swap user names and agree a time to play. We have already added the facility for you to share your BBO username with other members should you wish to do so. Log in to the members area and amend your account - there is now a field where you can add your user name. Look at the member list and the last column on the right contains BBO names. There is the latest version of some guidance on registering and setting up a game here. If you are looking for other members to join an online game and want an email circulated to other members please email Jan.
We have recently updated the guidance on how to play in a virtual club. Please click here
Several of us play Boggle, Words with Friends etc online or on our phones - your webmaster and husband are happy to share their gaming names if you want to challenge someone you know. If you want to share your favourite game with others send us an email.
There are a number of sites with free e-books. There are some free bridge related e-books here not all of them ACOL but worth a look.
Missing the theatre? You could go to the Social Distancing Festival where there are streams from rehearsals and extracts from performances which have been halted. There are also free showings of performances from an increasing number of locations eg the Paris Opera. Choir rehearsals ceased? Join the Sofa Singers for a rehearsal and virtual teabreak.
The Ramblers have stopped all group walks but have a link to suggested DIY walks. Some National Trust car parks and properties are now open and there is an online booking system. Near to us Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst and Polesdon Lacy are amongst the properties with some areas open. Likewise English Heritage is starting to open up outside spaces.
Fed up with virus jokes? Here are some bridge related ones, which will probably make you glad of the ones you are seeing on Facebook!
