The 2026-2027 competition for the Margaret Burrell Memorial Cup started on 4th August 2026 - all Afternoon and Evening players who play more than 20 times during the year are automatically entered. For more information and to see how you are doing click on competitions in the menu.

Welcome to Briter Bridge
About our club

Do you want to play bridge in Bromley in a friendly relaxed atmosphere? Perhaps with a meal or drink before or after your game. We are a duplicate bridge club based in the Parklangley Club in Wickham Way, Beckenham - located in Bromley, Kent, between West Wickham and Beckenham and on the hail and ride section of the 352 bus route. We play duplicate bridge on a Tuesday afternoon and evening using tablets and pre-dealt hands.

We are able to take payment by card or cash - table money is  £2.50 for members to cover all sessions that day and £5 for visitors. For more information about times and location Click here

There are introductory sessions for those wishing to start from scratch or learn duplicate on a Tuesday morning. Further information here

Visitors are always welcome but members will take priority if there is insufficient room. 

Relaxed needn't mean slow and there is some guidance. For more details and contact information click here.

If you want to try us out but don’t have a playing partner please contact Janet  and she will try to pair you up for a session.

Why play bridge?

Playing bridge helps keep your mind active and joining a club helps to improve your play and make new friends. We have provided some guidance on sources of lessons and clubs aimed at beginners. If you’re not free on a Tuesday morning look here.

Never played cards before? On a Tuesday morning at 11:00 from 8 September 2026 we are planning to start a new series of sessions aimed at absolute beginners or those who have an inkling of the basics but have never played duplicate. More information here

Please contact our Chairman, Tim , for an informal discussion. The sessions cost £5 per person per week - no need to commit to a whole course. We finish just in time to stay on and get a lunch or drink in the bar

Bridge Weekends
Bridge Weekends

The 2026 weekend was at the Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne 2nd-4th October. We had ten tables, glorious weather and the hotel did us proud - Clive and the other “visitors” would like to say how welcome they were made to feel. The full overall results can be viewed by clicking on the competition in the menu. Congratulations to the overall winners Jim and Nigel. Jan and Luke came second, closely followed by Janet and Stuart. More photos in the gallery or here

We are planning two weekends in 2027, 2-4 April in Arundel and autumn back at the Hydro. More details will be available soon 
AGM 2026

The AGM was held at 18.30 on Tuesday 1st September. 

Copies of the accounts, the draft 2025 minutes,  2026 agenda, officers' reports and accounts can be viewed in the membership pages by members logged in and then choosing "members" and "minutes" from the menu. 
Table money and annual subscription remain the same. The Margaret Burrell Memorial Cup was presented to the late Kate Mitchell’s daughter, Amy.
