A supervised bridge club set up, originally, with beginners in mind who have had at least one year's tuition and understand the basic principles of bridge. It is played at a leisurely pace of around 18 boards a session. All are welcome to participate, whether to learn and improve through actual play or just to socialise.
Bridge with Anne was founded circa 1999 by Anne Tovee who is an English Bridge Union accredited teacher. Anne considered that despite three years tuition learning bridge there existed a gulf between the newly acquired skills gained and actual play in the formal structure of a bridge club. With that in mind this club was established to allow members to gain the confidence to develop and move on. Our club is a halfway house and may not strictly follow the formal practices of EBU bridge clubs. Leniency for errors and misdemeanours is a byword.
