We received notification that the Cricket club have given a block booking to a Slimming club from 0900 hrs to 2100 hrs on Mondays despite the fact that we have a block booking agreement.
They did say we could play on another afternoon and we chose Friday as a poor second.
We are a Monday club and wished to stay that way . Muriel and I have agreed to move premises to Rhos on Sea Methodist Church and are in the process of signing the appropriate forms.
We now have a more spacious room and plenty of parking behind the church. The cricket club have been informed that we do not need Friday afternoons.
The alternative of Friday afternoon was not sensible unless forced upon us.... Bridge on Friday evenings at the Cricket club and some of our members may not want Fridays.
This move will allow us to continue as a successful club.... in 2019 we averaged 8.5 tables in our first year ... in 2020 we averaged 10.5 tables for the first 10 weeks when we were hit by the covid lockdown
When the conditions are right we will be back in our new surroundings.
There is a significant rise in rent compared to the Cricket club... however the price will remain at £2 per seesion
With the advice from the government and that of the WBU that over 70s should isolate themselves then the prudent and correct decision is that we now suspend bridge as of Sunday 15th March 2020
No bridge on March 16th and future Monday's until further notice.
Please check website for further details re starting back with bridge
Please be seated by 1335 to allow for announcements and a prompt start to the afternoon.
We now have the capacity for 14 tables and as such new members are welcome.
Anybody requiring a partner please phone Muriel Richardson on 01492 549599
Because of prior bookings for the room we use, there will be no bridge on the following dates....
