Welcome to the Bradshaw Bridge Club web site

The Bradshaw Bridge Club is a very friendly bridge club that meets on most Tuesday evenings and most Wednesday afternoons for duplicate pairs bridge.

Tuesday evenings: We play on RealBridge, starting at 7.30 p.m. on. Please log in as soon after 7.15 as possible. You can find the link in the online bridge menu item.  For new players wishing to join our RealBridge sessions, please use the Contact form in the Information Section of the menu.

On Wednesday afternoons, we meet at the Maiden Place Community Centre, Lower Earley, Reading, RG6 3HE @ 1.30 start until 4.30 p.m.   Bridge playing visitors are welcome (but there is no host system).

On Wednesday, the club uses Bridgemates and so the movement is fixed at 1.30 pm. Directors will normally not allow players to take part if both members of the pair are not seated by 1.30 pm. However, if a player knows that they are going to be inadvertently delayed in their journey to the club, please telephone their partner to advise them of the situation and the Director will attempt to make allowances.

Visitors: please note that if we reach our maximum table capacity members have priority.

The Club is affiliated to the English Bridge Union. EBU Masterpoints are awarded at most Club sessions and will be credited directly.

The Club is also a member of the Berks & Bucks Contract Bridge Association. We enter 1 team into the Berks & Bucks League of 8.

Convention Cards and Bidding

Following a recent email sent to members, the Committee requests that all regular playing partnerships hold an up-to-date convention card.  If you require help with this, please contact a member of the Committee.

The Committee have decided that any multi 2 diamond opening must conform to a range of 5 points or less (eg 6 to 10).  This can vary according to vulnerability and must be announced to opponents.  All other 2 level openings should be weak or strong never both.

2027 Weekend away

Following the success of this year's weekend away, the Club will be returning to the Langstone Quays Hotel on Hayling Island in 2027.  The dates for your diary are 5th - 7th February 2027.  An application letter has now been emailed to members.  Please advise if you have not received one and would like to attend.
