MANCHESTER CONGRESS 2026

3rd & 4th January 2026

Airport Hotel Manchester, Altrincham Road, Wilmslow SK9 4LR

This venue provides an excellent, friendly setting for this congress and has free parking for players with easy access to the local town centre with lots of nice restaurant and bar options for after bridge finishes each evening.

Saturday 3rd January – Championship Pairs (11:00-18:00)

Sunday 4th January – Swiss Teams (11:00-18:00)

Entry fees per £30 per player for 1 day or £55 if playing 2 days and the entry fee includes tea/coffee/biscuits/sweets throughout. There will also be a prize fund.

Also on Sunday 4th January 14:00-17:30 will be the Kevin Comrie Cup restricted to players no higher than a 9 NGS, with an entry fee of £15 per player.

  NEW BEGINNERS LESSONS  

The next series of beginners lessons will start on Thursday 18th of September 2025.

Sessions run from 7pm to approx 9.15pm. No partner is required.

Come along and learn how to play the most fascinating of card games.

♠   Monday Afternoon at 1.00pm.  ♣

 

These sessions will commence at 1pm. A brief tutorial will be followed by play of random hands during which assistance will be given. The sessions are aimed at novice and improver players although all are welcome.

  • Do you wonder what it is that good players do that makes a difference ?
  • Have you felt the buzz when you and your partner synchronise a defence ?
  • Learn the basis behind some of the rules you may have heard.
  • Have the opportunity to discuss your bidding systems and your card play in a friendly and constructive environment.
  • Suggest topics for future tutorials.

Normal table fees apply i.e. £4.00 for members and £6 for visitors
