| Table Etiquette |
We are a friendly club interested in each other's lives, however we are a competitive club too and the rules of competition must prevail during our bridge sessions.
The following points need to be read and inwardly digested for us to conform to the rules of the EBU.
1 North is your host and is responsible for checking the table card for correct opponents and boards.
2 On arrival at your table greet your opponents with the minimum of social chat. Do not hold protracted conversations about a previous board, your opponents might not have played it.
3 Only North may enter the score on the bridgemate and East must confirm.
4 Bids are only made via the bidding box. No 'chat' is permitted during the bidding or between defenders during the play. Bridge is a competitive game and chatting during a hand could be construed as Unauthorised Information. Jump bids must be preceded by the STOP card.
5 Discussion of played boards should be confirmed to the end of the round - if time permits.
6 If anything untoward happens at your table, call the Director and ask them to sort it out. Only the Director may make any rulings.
7 Partners play infinitely better if they are not berated for their errors. Who knows yours may be the next gaff! Likewise your opponents will not appreciate being told they have got it wrong. Don't offer advice unless you are specifically asked or qualified to do so.

| Gentle Bridge at Birches at 2pm on Tuesdays |
Gentle Bridge on Tuesdays at 2-4pm is a hosted session so there is no need to come with a partner, however please arrive by 1.50pm if possible so that the Director can organise the movement and systems,
This is a shorter, relaxed afternoon where players can ask questions and hands can be discussed. We use the duplicate boards and the Bridgemates so you can gain experience in these as well.
This is an excellent way to move from learning to being confident to join the regular sessions in the Club. Players of all abilities are very welcome.
The cost for this session is £2, we do not stop for a break in the middle so there are no refreshments.
