BRIDGE IN THE AUTUMN |
If there is sufficient interest, our county bridge association would like to arrange online bridge sessions on BBO during the autumn, open to all HBA (Herefordshire Bridge Association) club members (and possibly players from neighbouring clubs).
There could be a pairs session (weekly?) which would be similar to the one currently run by Ross. Thursday evenings would be a possibility. Another possibility would be to run it as a handicapped event.
In addition, we would like to run a teams league. The number of divisions would depend on entries, with all play all in each division. This could be scheduled, so there would be no need to arrange match dates, just to find four players for each team on the scheduled date (for example, play 8 board matches every Tuesday at 6pm.)
It would be a huge help If you could let me know whether you think any of the above would be a good idea.
Jane Russell – (Chairman)

Welcome to the Birches Bridge Club |

The Birches Bridge Club was originally formed in 2000 in order to enable new students of the game to play outside their classes. Time has moved on however and it now meets twice a week on Mondays at 6.45 for a 7.00pm start and Wednesday afternoons at 1.45 for a 2.00pm start. Most systems are played and matching convention cards are required.
Scoring is electronic and duplimated boards are used on both days. Results are available at the end of each session but in any event are posted onto the website www.bridgewebs.com/birches within 48 hours.
The club is affiliated to the Herefordshire Bridge Association and the English Bridge Union.
We have a full programme of competitions for both sessions, some of which are limited to members only. We welcome new members and visitors, but please contact our Secretary to make sure there are no restrictions on play at the session in question.

CORONAVIRUS |
Having closed the club, we would like to wish all our members continued health during this difficult time. Sadly we shall have to remain closed and hope we will be able to start up again once it is safe to do so.

Important Information |
News of Building Works at Much Birch Community Hall
Phase 1 of the extension to the Hall is still in progress.
Fire Escape routes
1. The Arthur Harris entrance/exit door.
2. Through the rear fire door of the Hall and proceed along the path to the left of the building as you leave the Hall.
3. From the kitchen, rear lobby or first floor should exit the building through the door at the bottom of the stairs and proceed as above.
There are still fewer parking places in the car park and the overspill space in the Court Farm area is still available. A torch would be useful after dark as the overspill is unlit.
If you have any questions please contact Jane Russell (Chairman) at home 01981 540749 or Sam Hardy (Community Hall contact) at home 01989 730684.
