AGM and Christmas Dinner

Our, AGM will be held on Monday 1st December, commencing at 6pm, at the Bridge Club. There will be nomination forms available in early November if you wish to nominate someone, or be nominated, for the 2026 Committee. We need nominations for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Masterpoint Secretary, Catering Organiser, and general Committee members.

At our recent Committee meeting, we decided to seek a caterer for this year's dinner, and Kylie Wagner has supplied us with a quote for both savoury and dessert food, which we have accepted. We will also be providing members with the usual selection of drinks to go with the meal, and there will be a session of cards with spot prizes to conclude the evening. Because of the cost involved with the catering, members will be asked to pay $20 - the Club will still be making a substantial contribution towards the cost of the food and drinks. There will be a list available from early November for members to indicate their attendance or apologies.

The young lady, Jasmine Milner, who has been our Dealer for the past 4 years, will be finishing up after New Year, as she is hoping to enrol at University in Melbourne. We have decided to make a presentation to Jasmine in appreciation of her support over the 4 years - she has always been reliable and willing to fit in with the Club's needs. Jasmine will train our new Dealer person early in the New Year.

Bridge Lessons for new players

A new series of lessons for Bridge beginners commenced on Monday 13th October at 5.45 pm. There are 7 people registered, and lessons will continue for 6 or 7 weeks, followed by a few weeks of supervised play.

Important Information
Important Information

Any members who need to arrange a partner for either Monday night or Wednesday afternoon, can do so by sending Max Richards a message. Try to give as much notice as possible, so that others have enough time to respond to your request.

If you are running a little late for a session, please let someone know that you will definitely be there - once or twice, we have been in "limbo", not knowing exactly how many tables to organise the session movement for.

Recent Launceston Congress

For those of you who may not know, the recent Launceston Congress was attended by Kay Smith, Anne Thomson, Peter Radford and Mark Rosenow. On the Saturday, both pairs had mixed fortunes with one good session and one not so happy! However, in the Swiss Pairs on the Sunday,, Peter and Mark finished in 5th place overall, so well done to them.
