Bedford No Fear and Bedford Bridge Clubs have set-up 2 tournaments a week on Bridge Base Online (BBO) that are exclusively for bridge players in Bedford.
You will probably know most of the people you're playing against, keeping things as friendly as possible. The tournaments (that's the BBO term) will start at 10am on Mondays and Fridays, with the first tournament on Monday 30th March. These are not EBU tournaments, so no Masterpoints and no effect on NGS.
To play you must register with Bridge Base Online if you haven't done so already, and e-mail Peter Flippant with your BBO id. Please also let him know if you think you are going to be playing in either tournament next week, so we can get an idea of likely numbers. It will be worthwhile for you to find out the BBO ids of your regular partners, and to add them as friends on BBO.
On the day, you can register for the tournament from 8am onwards, but please make sure you are registered by 9:50am at the latest. Colin Porch has used his id (poco1) to create the tournament, but the directors could be any of Colin, Dale (dalesquire) and me (pjflip). To register, from the main BBO screen, go to Play Or Watch Bridge - Competitive, All Tournaments and find Bedford Pairs. You will need to register with a partner who is also online. If you don't have a partner, there is a “partnership desk” where single players can add their name to the list, or invite somebody already on the list to play with them.
Once registered, at 10am you and you partner should automatically be taken and seated for the tournament, so be ready! Maximun 14 minutes per round, or the board will be deleted.
